    Healthwatch Southwark & Healthwatch Lambeth, along with partners from health and social care across both boroughs, ran an event "A Healthy Future in Southwark & Lambeth" on the 20th March.

    Over the summer of 2016, we engaged with 114 young people aged 12-23, via workshops and surveys, to find out about their experiences of mental health education and information, access to services, and where they prefer to go for support.

    Community Southwark, Healthwatch Southwark and Southwark Council hosted the Southwark Faith and Health Summit 2019, which launched their report and present findings from Health Challenges run by faith leaders in their communities.

  5. Young people's experiences of sexual health services

    Report -

    Sexual health was identified as a priority area for Healthwatch Southwark. We held a focus group with Mind charity to understand where young people turn to find information about sex and what their experience are of accessing sexual health services.

  6. Bengali Focus Group with Macmillan Cancer Support

    We were commissioned by Macmillan Cancer Support, to run a focus group exploring the different ways the Bengali community access information – where they get it from and in what format and language.

  7. Bengali Women's Focus Group

    We worked with Southwark Council’s engagement team to visit a Bengali Women’s Group at the Rockingham Community Centre, to explore engagement opportunities to understand the issues this community faces when accessing health and social care services

  8. Latin American Women's Focus Group

    The session was conducted in Spanish, led by Latin American Women’s Rights Service (LAWRS) with staff support from Coalition of Latin Americans in the UK (CLAUK) and Healthwatch Southwark.

  9. Gypsy and Traveller Community Focus Group

    Healthwatch Southwark spoke with Traveller women who reside in Traveller sites in Southwark, of which there are four: Springtide (Peckham), Brideale (Peckham), Ilderton (Bermondsey) and Burnhill (Peckham).

    We held a public forum on 15th September at Canada Water Library. 67 people attended the event, with 15 people subsequently registering as new
    supporters of Healthwatch Southwark.

  17. Appointment systems at GP Practices

    From October 2016 to February 2017 we spoke with 397 local people about what they thought HWS should focus on in 2017/18.

  18. Access and Experience of GP Services

    In December 2015, we published a report based on what 79 Southwark residents told us about GP access and experience.

  19. Do Southwark GPs offer interpreting services?

    Following an early report about the experiences of seldom-heard communities in accessing GPs, we carried out a review of GP out-of-hours answerphone messages.

  24. Help develop an online digital wellbeing service (and be rewarded for your time!)

    Healthwatch Southwark are working with Mindwave Ventures to find people to take part in an online co-creation workshop which will help in the development of a local digital wellbeing service. Participants will be rewarded for their time.

  25. Healthwatch Southwark continues to collect feedback on AT Medics GP surgeries

    Healthwatch across South East London are aware of the sale of 8 GP practices by AT Medics (transfer of ownership took place in February 2021) to Operose Health (owned by US private healthcare company Centene Corporation).
