Healthy feedback from our Healthy Futures in Southwark & Lambeth event

Healthwatch Southwark & Healthwatch Lambeth, along with partners from health and social care across both boroughs, ran an event "A Healthy Future in Southwark & Lambeth" on the 20th March.

The aim of this event was to invite the public to learn about, and give their opinions about, four programmes in Lambeth and Southwark; the Local Care Record, Children and Young People's Health Partnership, Local Care Networks and Mind & Body.

There was also a presentation from Clinical Effectiveness Southwark which explored health inequalities in the boroughs and the NHS Long Term Plan.

Feedback from the event was positive with over 90% of people feeling like they had had their say and 87% of people who felt they had learnt about health programmes.

We learnt a lot from attendees and one excellent point was that programmes and health/social care organisations should work directly with the public to improve services; create specific opportunities for people to participate in development, design, delivery and review of health and social care services and that a diverse range of people should be involved in this.
