What is changing?

The Healthwatch Southwark and Community Southwark teams

The Healthwatch Southwark core team, Rhyana, Ruman and Mariam will be transitioning into our host organisation, Community Southwark, where we will continue our work as a Community Health Team. This change ensures that the knowledge, experience, and trusted relationships built through Healthwatch Southwark remain rooted in the borough. Our focus on listening to residents, amplifying community voices, and supporting engagement with local health and care services will continue within Community Southwark’s wider work.

What stays the same?
•    Our commitment to community voice and lived experience
•    Our work alongside residents, voluntary organisations, and system partners
•    This website will remain live for the coming year, providing ongoing access to Healthwatch Southwark information, resources, signposting information and past reports

What this means for our work
While the way we report and communicate will evolve, we will continue to share updates and insights transparently.

Reporting and accountability
From 2026/27, Healthwatch Southwark activity will be reported through Community Southwark’s quarterly monitoring report, replacing the standalone Healthwatch report. Updates will continue to be shared with core stakeholders to ensure continuity through the transition.

Newsletters and updates
Over the coming year, the Healthwatch Southwark newsletter will be phased out. Subscribers will be transitioned to a Community Southwark Health and Wellbeing newsletter, bringing together health and care updates, information on system changes, and opportunities to get involved.

As Community Southwark is a member-based organisation, we encourage eligible VCS and community groups to sign up to the newsletter to stay informed as this transition progresses and to receive future updates.

How to join - Community Southwark

Further details will be shared as national guidance becomes available and is reflected in local transition planning.

What happens next?
We will keep this page updated as plans develop and timelines are confirmed. Signing up to our newsletter is the best way to keep up to date with changes and ongoing opportunities to engage.

What you can do

We will soon be surveying VCS groups, health and social care partners, and the local community about how they want to engage with health and social care services in the borough.

Please keep an eye on your emails and spread the word too!
