This year, we’ve worked with thousands of residents, volunteers, and partners to tackle inequalities, improve services, and amplify unheard voices. Read our annual report to learn about how we championed patient and public experiences, our projects and so much more!

By the numbers
- 4,395+ people supported with advice or to share their experiences  
- 200+ volunteers & ambassadors gave nearly 2,000 hours  
- 165+ outreach events held across Southwark  
- £157,221 statutory funding from Southwark Council  

 

Listening that leads to action
- GP access, mental health, and hospital care were top concerns in our Summer tour and these insights are helping to shape local care plans  
- Our partnership with Public Health led to Vital 5 health checks and tailored information being provided directly to communities  
- Inclusive Surgeries programme launched—GPs now required to have Learning Disability & Autism (LDA) champions following our recommendations for change

 

Tackling inequality
- Our Latin American access project led to translated materials and better ethnicity data collection  
- Residents in temporary housing, carers, and underserved groups received targeted support
- Our Community Health Ambassadors reached underserved groups, including refugees and low-income families across the borough

 

Influencing at every level
- Contributed to the NHS 10-year plan and South East London digital Strategy  
- Insights shared with Southwark Health & Wellbeing Board, CQC, and Integrated Care System (ICS) leaders  
- Helped shape Southwark’s wellbeing leads to refine their approach when engaging with vulnerable residents experiencing housing and health issues


Real stories, real impact
- Supported residents with health and care inaccessibility, disability rights, and care coordination  
- Helped autistic adults navigate benefits and access advocacy  
- Helped residents understand their rights and find trusted support services
- Volunteers co-designed outreach, promoted cancer screening, and built trust in local services
