Every Drop Matters Event Reflection Report
On 26th February 2026, we partnered with Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust (GSTT) to deliver Every Drop Matters - a community event focused on raising awareness of sickle cell and the importance of ethnically diverse blood donors. The session brought residents, Community Health Ambassadors and NHS partners together for open, accessible conversations about blood donation, sickle cell, and local health services.
Attendees had the opportunity to speak directly with NHS Blood and Transplant, GSTT’s sickle cell pilot programme team, the Vital 5 outreach team and NIHR Research. The event also featured the interactive “What’s Your Blood Type?” activity, which helped start meaningful conversations about donor eligibility and the need for more diverse donors.
We’ve now published our Every Drop Matters – Reflections Report 2026, capturing the discussions, partner feedback, event learnings and our next steps for continuing this work.
