Do you have lived experience of MSK conditions? Be part of the decision-making boards and help improve the patient journey for people with musculoskeletal conditions (MSK)

The South East London Integrated Care System is working together to improve the patient journey for people with MSK conditions and have formed the south east London MSK Programme.

MSK condition affect the joints, bones and muscles and they also include autoimmune diseases such as a rheumatoid arthritis.

The are two opportunities for people with lived experience of MSK conditions to be part of the decision-making boards, these are outlined below:

  • South east London MSK Programme board - this will be a group of people that meet four times a year to monitor the progress of the MSK programme. An important aspect of the role will be to ensure key links between the Board and the south east London community MSK lived experience group. The appointed lived experience Board member will be invited to join this group which meets for one hour every two months in order to feed issues to and from the lived experience group and the Board. Meetings are all currently on Microsoft Teams.

  • GetUbetter and Leva Project Board (Lambeth and Southwark only) – the self-management app “getUbetter” is being piloted alongside an online pain management programmed “Leva” in Lambeth and Southwark. There is a project board that overlooks the delivery of the project. The role of the board member will be to contribute to the project board that meets every four to six weeks.
