Perinatal and Paternal Mental Health Support Workshops for Black and Ethnic Minority Pregnant Women, Birthing People and Parents

Prosperitys is a maternal well being social enterprise specially designed to support Black and Ethnic Minority pregnant women, birthing people and parents, primarily in Lambeth and Southwark.

Prosperitys focus on prevention, social isolation and raising maternal mental health awareness.

Their services include:

  • Workshops
  • Social meetup groups at the local children centre
  • Peer to peer support
  • Free counselling sessions by a qualified counselling psychologist.

Prosperitys is launching their new free Community Champion workshop. The workshop will be commencing on Monday 21st February 2022.

The workshops will provide parents with perinatal and paternal mental health support and a chance to meet other parents going through similar experiences. The workshops are facilitated by mental health community champions trained by Colourful Minds, a charity that focuses on Black and Minority Ethnic mental health. Each session will provide a safe space where information can be shared on mental health topics, experiences can be shared and discussions can be had. Each week there will be a focus on different issues. The training has been funded by Guys and St Thomas' hospital charity Urban health. The champions are here to empower, raise awareness and give practical & emotional support to parents and parents in Lambeth and Southwark.
