About this event
Join in an exciting workshop looking at how Southwark can be a borough that supports fair access to healthy affordable food, and how our local food retail environment supports that.
We would like to hear from residents about what food shopping is like in your area:
- How easy or difficult is it to buy healthy foods at an affordable price in your area?
- Do you think your area has got a great offer already?
- Or do you find you have to compromise on quality or feel the local offer is too limited?
We would also like your help in defining what a 'healthy, affordable basket' of food might look like for Southwark residents. This will be used in a study to assess healthy food access in key areas of the borough.
We are also seeking volunteers to get involved in the study as mystery shoppers to compare local food prices in local shops. Volunteers' full travel expenses will be covered.
A 2 course vegan meal will be provided at the end of the session at 5.30pm.
Children are also welcome to the event and there will be activities provided for them.
This work is being carried out by Southwark Food Action Alliance & Community Southwark.
