Adriana Vaz

Adriana is a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (therapist for short) with the NHS and has been a dedicated Community Research Volunteer since 2021.

Adriana said the following about how Healthwatch Southwark has supported her:

"I joined Healthwatch Southwark as a community research volunteer hoping to improve my skills in research and work alongside a team with similar goals as mine – to improve health care quality and access. During the pandemic this felt particularly important. I contributed by interviewing residents of Southwark about their experience with accessing mental health services and their opinions on the effectiveness of GP practices. These reports are now available on the Healthwatch Southwark website here. It is great to be part of the process which informs service improvements at a local and national level.

Since the start of 2022 I have been running monthly wellbeing workshops to help the local community with common wellbeing issues like improving confidence or boosting your mood. It has been great to be able to share some wellbeing strategies with the community and to learn about individual tips and tricks participants are happy to share. I hope to continue supporting Healthwatch Southwark and the community by continuing to share my expertise and contribute towards future research projects".
