    The Red Box Project is a not-for-profit initiative, aiming to support young people throughout their periods by providing red boxes filled with free period products to local schools.

    In 2016, one of our priority areas was social care.

    A focus of this has been to look at the quality of nursing care provision, especially after the closure of one of the three Southwark nursing homes in October 2015 (Camberwell Green).

    In November 2018, Healthwatch Southwark used our power of Enter and View to visit Southwark's only public nursing home, Tower Bridge Care Centre.
    We spent six hours at the home over two days and spoke to 8 residents, 6 visitors and 10 staff members.

    Healthwatch Southwark & Healthwatch Lambeth, along with partners from health and social care across both boroughs, ran an event "A Healthy Future in Southwark & Lambeth" on the 20th March.

    Sexual health was identified as a priority area for Healthwatch Southwark. We held a focus group with Mind charity to understand where young people turn to find information about sex and what their experience are of accessing sexual health services.

    Project Dare in partnership with South London and Maudsley Recovery College are running a body confidence/body image course for young persons within the LGBTQIA+ community.

    We have been listening to unpaid carers about their experiences, the support they receive and further support they would like, and the impact that their role has on their life and wellbeing.
